I sat down with my financial advisor this afternoon. Between the severance package and my unemployment check I should be OK for a little while.....if I spend very carefully. No more gratuitous shoe shopping for me.
Shoes, huh? My thing has always been jackets, coats, windbreakers. I don't know why (there's probably some deep psychological meaning here, like I want to hide in a nice warm fuzzy fleece) but I am drawn to outerwear.
Shirts! Gotta have dress shirts! JC Penney is discontinuing my favorite dress shirts, so I've been buying them up online since the store doesn't have them anymore. BTW, thanks for listing me as 'clickworthy'--that's very nice of you.

Coats for me, too. When I was a photographer, I obsessed with getting the perfect winter coat for covering news in all winter weather.
I didn't find it, of course, until I moved to South Carolina, where winter comes once a year.
So now, I have some killer coats for when I move back north.

Hi, just popping in from career guys blog to take a look around. The carefull spending sounds tough, but you'll get through it if you just persevere!
Thanks for the support! I resisted buying a pair of shoes yesterday. I'm getting stronger!
