Criminal minds are wondering.....

ATM Stolen from Dorchester Bar

At approximately 4:15 this morning, officers from District 11 responded to the D Bar on Dorchester Avenue for an alarm sounding. Upon arrival, they observed the rear door wide open with damages done to the lock. When the owner arrived at the scene, he told police that the ATM machine within the bar had in fact been stolen. It contained between $11,000 and $12,000. The incident remains under investigation.

This begs the question- how easy is it to get the ATM open to relieve it of the cash inside?

you have no idea how many times i've thought about how easy it would be to jack one of those flimsy-looking free-standing atms for some quick cash. in my mind's eye, i've always pictured a wily e. coyote-style contraption that uses pulleys to drop the atm from a great height and smash it like a greedy kid breaking someone else's piggy bank.

not that i'd ever try this for real or anything ...

Some bright sparks over here robbed a Brinks truck with a bulldozer/jcb/digger thing - just rammed the heck out of it and then grabbed the big bags of cash.
