That's really pita-ful.
I also like the explanation at the end about not confusing the stuff with "humus," in part because it proves the writer is definitely not a New Yorker, since no New Yorker would ever confuse the two (my wife and kid sometimes get on me for saying "yumor" instead of "humor").
