BPD News goodness

I'm addicted to BPD News. I think that the writing has gotten better since it began. But I don't totally understand this entry:

Angry Customer Arrested at the "KFC"” in Dorchester

Witnesses positively identified Dana Brown, 42, of Mattapan after he threw a rock breaking a double pane glass window at the "“KFC" located at 465 Washington Street. According to witnesses, the suspect was upset that the employees at the store refused to give him food for free. He will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court on Monday.

What's with the quotation marks? Makes it seem like a faux-KFC....

And who doesn't love this title?:

Two Bottles, Two Victims, Two Head Injuries Two male in their 20's from Marshfield and Fall River found out they had something in common at local Boston hospitals Sunday morning. Both victims were transported to different Emergency Rooms after being hit in their heads with bottles. The incidents occurred on Lansdowne Street and on Canal Street. Police are investigating both incidents; no arrests were made in either assault.
