Would you like some advertising with that gas?

In addition to (relatively) reasonable prices, Ames Street Sunoco in Dedham now brings you PumpTop TV. So much advertising, so little time.

Sunday on the square, with balloons

I caught a glimpse of balloons at Copley Square on Sunday. I think there was some sort of charity walk going on. This was about as close as I got.

Plane to see

Planes fly really low over my house sometimes. Close enough to see the underbelly. If it was daytime I imagine I'd be able to tell you what airline it was that just buzzed the place. And they seem to fly really close to each other on takeoff/landing approaches.

While I was on the porch watching the jets zoom overhead, I noticed a police officer walking through my parking lot. Then he noticed me noticing him and waved. I guess that's what community policing is all about.

Orange Line confusion

Saw this in the Orange Line station near my house. Note that none of these stations are actually on the Orange Line, which is not terribly helpful.

I don't usually blog about politics....

If I were Bristol Palin, I'd be sad and perhaps confused that my mom would rather be campaigning than with me. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know what goes on behind closed doors, and I'm not saying that woman should be at home rather than in the workplace (or the House or the Senate) but if I were 17 and pregnant, I'd probably want my mom by my side.
I feel for the poor girl. Being 17 and pregnant must be hard enough, but to do it on a national stage must make it unbearable. (At least pregnant teen star Jamie Lynn Spears didn't have to worry about hampering her parents political careers.)

Wal-Mart really is a big box store

Found this giant wooden box near the personal care section of the Wal-Mart in Framingham.
